Penn Foster Names Bobby Babbrah as Chief Digital Officer

Penn Foster Brings Ed Tech Veteran Bobby Babbrah on to Newly Created Position to Support Expanding Skills Platform.

SCRANTON, PA, (May 19, 2016) — Penn Foster, Inc., a leading provider of skills training for frontline workers and career and college candidates, today announced it has named Bobby Babbrah to the newly created position of Chief Digital Officer (CDO).

Leveraging his expertise in education products and platforms related to mobile, cloud, and content, Babbrah will oversee the company's aggressive advancement toward a digitally led, product-oriented and mobile-first technology agenda. In addition, Babbrah will manage all aspects of products and platforms, including Penn Foster's capital investments. He will partner closely with the executive management team to accelerate innovative, tech-enabled solutions for students, partners, and employees throughout the company. Babbrah will report directly to Penn Foster president and CEO Frank Britt.

Most recently, Babbrah served as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at Law Logix Group, a leading SaaS (software as a service) provider of compliance, human resource and legal software and was additionally responsible for P&L for the company's product and services. In this role, Babbrah led an effort to seamlessly integrate workflow solutions into many of the leading retailers, hospitality and industrial companies. Prior to that, he was Senior Vice President, Learning Platforms, for McGraw-Hill Education, where he led digital strategy and transformation and execution of learning platforms, content and apps for K-12 and higher education and international markets.

Earlier in his career, Babbrah was Chief Technology Officer of Archipelago Learning (acquired by Thomas Bravo), one of the largest SaaS providers in the K-12 market. He also held several positions at Pearson Education, leading up to Vice President of Architecture and Content Technology.

Babbrah earned an MBA from Arizona State University's W.P. Carey School of Business, and an M.S. in Information Management and Computer Science and B.S. in Computer Science from Arizona State. He has also received two patents:  Methods and Apparatus for a Distributed Enterprise Portal Architecture and Apparatus and Method for Automated Capture of Document Metadata and Document Imaging.
