SCRANTON, PA, (October 27, 2016) — Penn Foster Inc., a for-purpose organization providing skills development training, credentials and employment matching for today's frontline workforce, announced today that its Director of Early Childhood Education, Nancy Moretti, Ed.D. (ABD), M.S., has accepted the role of Facilitator for the Student Interest Forum (SIF) at the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC).
Moretti oversees all ECE programs across Penn Foster's Career School and College, and spearheaded the development and launch of the Undergraduate Certificate in CDA Credential Preparation Program offered through Penn Foster College. In addition, Moretti has been heavily invested in volunteering for the SIF and Student Networking Center (SNC) for NAEYC over the past several years. Upon stepping down from the position, Dr. Bill Strader invited Moretti to take an active role in the center as SIF volunteer facilitator.
"We saw Nancy Moretti as the perfect fit for this open position, as she has actively demonstrated a passion and commitment to the education of young ECE professionals through her professional and volunteer work," said Dr. Strader, at NAEYC. "We are thrilled to have Nancy take the helm of the Student Interest Forum, as the group's efforts work to recruit and equip the future generation of leaders and professionals within the early childhood education space."
The SIF works to strengthen and maintain the vitality of NAEYC through solidifying the current membership and engaging a new segment of student membership. SIF provides many opportunities for students of all ages, including space to collaborate, share ideas and ask questions; fostering leadership development at the local, state, regional and national levels; assisting students to establish student clubs or organizations; and connecting NAEYC Affiliate Chapters.

I am excited to dive with planning and working as the facilitator and host for the SNC which takes place each year at the NAEYC annual conference."
The SNC session during the NAEYC annual conference will allow directors, administrators, and college faculty to meet with and learn more about SIF and encourage their employees and students to join. Sessions hosted in the SNC are specific to college students and entry-level practitioners. Student members of SIF will be provided with networking opportunities and will have the chance to meet all of the members of the NAEYC board.
