SCRANTON, PA, (August 1, 2017) — YouthBuild Lake County student receives full scholarship to study graphic design. North Chicago, IL, July 13, 2017: YouthBuild Lake County (YBLC) today announced that Elijah Childs, Class of 2017, is the recipient of a Dorothy Stoneman Scholarship a two-year award that will allow him to earn his Associates Degree in the field of graphic design.

A recent graduate of the YBLC program, Elijah excelled in all areas including but not limited to academics, community service, and personal growth. "Elijah's success is a direct reflection of the hard work, dedication, and effort that he put in over the past nine months," said Tameka Wilson, executive director at YouthBuild Lake County. "The team at YBLC could not be prouder of him and this truly outstanding accomplishment."

Penn Foster, a leader in career-focused online and blended education, provided the scholarship through their partnership with YouthBuild USA, and will also provide Elijah with a personal success coach to help guide him during the next two years of his educational journey.
