Tomorrow, Saturday September 27, 2014, we celebrate Now in its third consecutive year, the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, in partnership with the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and America's Promise Alliance, will lead this public media initiative to help communities bolster graduation rates and combat the high school dropout crisis.
More than 80 public radio and television stations in over 30 states will leverage their power and reach to showcase the exceptional work of individuals and groups across the country who are American Graduate Champions: those helping local youth earn a high school diploma or equivalent and stay on track to college and career successes.
Part of America's Promise Alliance, Penn Foster is proud of the work we do to make education affordable and accessible to all, especially the "underserved." From opportunity youth to homeschoolers to adult learners needing a second chance, the 50,000+ students of Penn Foster High School have one thing in common: the desire to earn a high school diploma to better their lives.
Along with our partner organizations like YouthBuild and Job Corps, schools districts like Polk County and Scranton, and private sector schools like Sanford-Brown, Bryant & Stratton and Dorsey Schools, we look forward to American Graduate Day and celebrating the success of our students and graduates.
