Penn Foster Celebrates World Veterinary Day 2023

Posted by Des Sinkevich on April 28, 2023

World Veterinary Day is celebrated annually on the last Saturday of April to highlight the crucial role that veterinary professionals play in maintaining the health and well-being of animals and the general public. This year's theme is "Promoting Diversity, Equity, and Inclusiveness in the Veterinary Profession."

The veterinary profession – from veterinarians to veterinary technicians to assistants – is one that is stressful, with those in the profession fighting against burnout and compassion fatigue. But, for most, it’s worth it because their work makes a difference – helping pets stay healthy and alleviating worry for pet parents. By focusing on diversity, equity, and inclusiveness in veterinary practices, we can ensure that veterinary professionals are supported and uplifted, having the opportunities they need to be successful doing what they love.

As part of that goal, Penn Foster is committed to supporting veterinary professionals’ success through flexible education and training opportunities. We’re dedicated to helping those in the field – and those considering entering the field – build the skills and knowledge that can ensure a strong and rewarding career. As we celebrate World Veterinary Day, we want to acknowledge the hard and sometimes draining work that our partners and employees do to maintain the health and well-being of pets and their families. Through long hours and physically demanding work, veterinary professionals make a difference in the world every day.
