Pharmacy Assistant Program Overview

In Penn Foster’s online Pharmacy Assistant certificate program, students will learn how to receive, record, and verify prescription orders to ensure that they are being filed correctly and in a timely manner. The program covers how to successfully interact with patients in delivering medication and other sales functions, including operating the cash register and handling transactions.

Upon completion of the pathway program, learners will be able to provide efficient and effective support to pharmacists and pharmacy technicians through maintaining electronic patient information and performing administrative duties, including answering phones and maintaining and stocking supplies.

This program will prepare learners for roles such as Pharmacy Assistant, Pharmacy Front-end Assistant, and Pharmacy Clerk.
